Exam Board: AQA

Minimum subject specific entry requirements: Grade C in English Language/ Literature, and a C in one humanities subject or a B in Citizenship.

Course Content: AS Units consist of:

Unit 1 – Law Making and the Legal System
Unit 2 – The Concept of Liability

(a) Introduction to Criminal Liability
(b) Introduction to Tort (Negligence)

A2 students take AS plus the following units:

Unit 3 – Criminal Law (Offences against the person)
Unit 4 – (a) Criminal Law (Offences against Property)
(b) Concepts of Law (Law, Morality and Justice)

Assessment:

This course assessed by external examinations in January and June.
AS Unit 1 Exam = 1 hour and 30 minutes in JANUARY
Unit 2 Exam = 1 hour and 30 minutes in JUNE
A2 Unit 3 Exam = 1 hour and 30 minutes in JANUARY
Unit 4 Exam = 1 hour and 30 minutes in JUNE
