BTEC First Diploma in Business (Level 2) Print E-mail

This qualification is equivalent to 4 GCSE grades A - C.

Exam Board: Edexcel.

Minimum subject specific entry requirements: Mainly D and E GCSE grades Or Distinction at Level 1.

Course Content:

You will study a total of 9 units, including the following compulsory units:

Unit 1: Exploring business activity

Different types of business activity and ownership, business aims and objectives.

Unit 2: Investigating business resources

How resources are managed, why they are managed and how to access sources
of finance.

Unit 3: Introduction to marketing

The principles and key concepts of marketing, how marketing can increase
demand for goods and services.

The other 6 units are optional and will be decided by the business department
before the start of the course.

Assessment:

100% coursework which is marked internally and externally. This course will suit you if you enjoy researching independently or in groups and prefer course work to examinations.

Progression:

You can use this qualification to progress onto the Level 3 BTEC Business course, or with further training or study you could go into careers such as accounting, administration,
personnel or finance.
