Courses at CFGS 6th Form Print E-mail

We offer courses at 4 different levels in the Sixth Form, from Entry Level to Level 3 BTECs and A Levels.

AS / A2 LEVELS (Level 3)

• 2 year courses
• AS taken during the first year and A2 during the second year
• AS + A2 = A Level
• You can combine an AS / A2 level with a Level 3 BTEC course Level 3 BTEC Subsidiary Diploma, Diploma or Extended Diploma
• 2 year course
• Level 3 BTEC Subsidiary Diploma taken during Year 1 and Diploma / Extended
Diploma in Year 2
• Subsidiary Diploma (6 units) = 1 A Level, Diploma (12 units) = 2 A Level, Extended Diploma (18 units) = 3 A Levels
• Recognised qualification by Universities
• Foundation for further study or training or entry into employment

Level 3 OCR National in ICT

• 2 year course
• Equivalent to 1 A Level
• Can be combined with Level 3 BTEC course or AS Levels

Level 2 BTEC Diploma

• 1 year course
• Equivalent to 4 GCSEs grade A - C
• Foundation for further study or training at Level 3 or entry into employment

Level 1 BTEC Certificate and Award

• 1 year course
• Equivalent to 2 GCSEs A - C
• Foundation for further study or training at Level 2 or entry into employment

Entry Level

• 1 year course
• An introduction into vocational courses and work
• Foundation for further study or training at Level 1 or entry into employment
