What is Work Experience? Central Foundation Girls' School arranges work experience placements for students. This includes preparing and briefing the students at school as well as debriefing them afterwards using student evaluation forms. Students are placed in organisations to carry out a number of tasks which are explained in the job descriptions provided. It is an important aspect of learning to experience a real working environment and is an important link between employers, schools and colleges. By undertaking work experience students have the opportunity to learn about Health and Safety, attitudes in the workplace and is a step forward to preparing for their own working life. Parents and Carers Parents and Carers have no specific responsibilities in the process of work experience unless they provide work experience placements which will need to follow Health and Safety guidelines. Parents/Carers will need to sign a consent form for their daughter and give permission as to whether the student can travel outside of the Borough. During the placement Students will be supported throughout their work experience by being given contact details for the work-related learning office in case of any problems. As well as this, experienced staff will visit students during their work experience placement to monitor and review their progress. After the placement Students will be required to complete a student evaluation from giving them the opportunity to explain any concerns and to be able to give their comments about their placement.
