School Day Print E-mail

Lessons are timetabled over a two-week cycle. The two weeks are called Week A and Week B. Lessons are not always the same in the two weeks, e.g. English might have two periods in Week A but three periods in Week B.

Arrangements are slightly different in Week B. On the Wednesday of Week B, there is no Period One. Instead, students start their day at 10.30am with a short registration session with their Form Tutor. This is followed by morning break and the rest of the day follows at the usual times. The reason for this later start for students is to enable staff to have quality time for Continuing Professional Development.

Timings of the School Day

Students arrive at school for 8.40am, except on Wednesday in Week B, when there are no lessons Periods One and Two (however, the school does offer a Film Club during this time. Students arrive for registration at 10.30am with break and the rest of the day following at the usual times. Any student arriving after 8.45am will be marked late and will have to sign the Late Book. A Breakfast Club runs every morning from 8.10am.

Registration

Students should be on the school site by 8.40am at the latest and are expected to be present for registration at 8.45am. Registration also occurs at 1.40pm and a student will be marked late if she arrives after 1.45pm.
