Uniform

Details of suppliers and costs of the school’s attractive uniform, which is worn by all students in Years 7 to 11, are available from the school. It is the policy and expectation of the school governors that all students in Years 7 to 11 will wear school uniform. Year 12 and 13 students are required to wear suitable clothes and shoes for studying and learning in a formal business like setting. All parents who select CFGS must agree to this requirement at the time of selection.

The uniform is as follows:

  • A mid-grey kilt (lower knee length) OR a mid-grey above ankle length skirt.
  • OR mid-grey standard trousers with a white plain blouse (long or short sleeved with collar)
  • OR the school’s standard style grey shalwar kameez (knee or mid-calf length, long cuffed sleeves, or short sleeves).
  • OR the school’s standard style above ankle length Jilbab, cuffed sleeves (plain long
    dark socks, plain (non-patterned) tights or grey shalwar worn only underneath).
  • A plain white headscarf made of cotton (if worn), pinned back securely at shoulder length.
  • A black cardigan or jumper (with correct colour CFS logo for that year group) Year 7 = purple, Year 8 = green, Year 9 = yellow, Year 10 = red and Year 11=blue.
  • Plain white or dark socks or grey, beige or black tights.
  • Sensible flat / low wide-heeled black shoes or plain black trainers, (not boots, sandals, high heels or slipper types).
  • A plain black coat. In winter plain black neck scarves or plain black woolen hats are permitted outside classrooms only.

  • PE / Dance Kit – A white Aertex P.E. blouse, polo-shirt or T-shirt, black tracksuit bottoms, trainers.
  • Drama – Students wear trainers, ‘totes’ style socks or have bare feet for drama.
  • Design & Technology, Art & Design – The school will provide appropriate aprons, but students may wish to bring an old shirt for these subjects.

Science – Aprons, lab coats and eye protection will be provided when necessary.

Accessories and Equipment

  • Jewellery is not permitted except for ear studs/sleepers, a watch and a small
    Religious emblem.
  • Make-up may not be worn in school by students in Years 7-11.
  • A bag for carrying books, A4 folders, student planner etc., (not a handbag).
  • A pencil case with pen, pencil, rubber, ruler, colouring pencils, geometry set,
    Calculator, etc.
  • A small purse or container for money.

Procedures for dealing with students who are incorrectly dressed:

Form tutors or Head of Year to investigate and issue cards to cover necessary period of time only in exceptional circumstances. Students not in uniform will be placed in isolation unit and their parents requested to bring in correct uniform. Jeans and denim jackets are not allowed under any circumstances. Full uniform checks will be carried out every half term.
