About Us (Training School) Print E-mail

Central Foundation Girls' School is proud of its Training School status. CFGS is an innovating and exciting place to be.  We strive to enable the whole school community to achieve excellence, both personally and professionally, by delivering effective and interactive training which meets the needs of individuals and the school as a whole.  Our aim is to continually improve the learning experiences for students in order for them to excel.

Central Foundation achieved Training School status in 2003 in recognition of the high quality training and development provided for the whole school workforce.  Since then, we have developed a range of innovative projects which have been adopted by a large number of schools in Tower Hamlets and beyond. CFGS has a dedicated Professional Development Team, who lead the wide range of opportunities on offer at the school. 
 
Diane Taylor: Deputy Head Teacher

Diane line manages the Professional Development Team as part of her wider role as Deputy Head Teacher.  She has a wealth of experience leading professional development at CFGS and elsewhere.

Diane offers bespoke training on Performance Management, Behaviour for Learning, Child Protection and Special Educational Needs.  In addition, she coaches Early Professional Development colleagues and teachers new to Senior Management.

anne mcnultyAnne McNulty: Leader of Professional Development

Anne's particular areas of responsibility include Initial Teacher Training (ITT) i.e. the Graduate Teacher Programme (GTP) and Student Teacher Programme for PGCE students as well as the Overseas Trained Teacher route to Qualified Teacher Status. At present we are not accepting CVs from GTP applicants.

Anne leads the two Student Voice projects which are integral to our professional development programmes for teachers.  These are STARS (Students As Researchers) and TASC Force (Teachers and Students Co-planning).

Madeleine Carberry: Leader of Professional Development

Madeleine’s particular areas of responsibility include the Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) and Early Professional Development (EPD) programmes as well as overseeing the NCSL Leading From the Middle (LftM) and Leadership Pathways Programme (LPP).  She offers coaching on these leadership programmes and for other identified colleagues.

Madeleine is a registered Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner.  She runs a variety of workshops including Dealing with Challenging Behaviours in Adults, Accredited Stage 1 Mentor Training, Brain Break Activities, Creative Management of Time plus Clear & Effective Communication Strategies.

Neepa Chowdhury: Human Resources Manager and Leader of Professional Development for Support Staff

Neepa’s particular areas of responsibility are dealing with personnel issues, recruitment, policies and procedures and leading on training for support staff, in particular Performance Management.  In addition, Neepa is responsible for training the Student Council Interviewers and Tour Guides.
