Headteacher's weekly update: 26/02/2021
Dear CFGS students and families,
It is wonderful to begin the second half of the spring term with some much-improved weather, and some good news for students and families finally on the horizon. You will now have read the information sent to you about our phased return to school from Monday 8th March. As explained in the letter, we have to adopt a phased approach to school re-opening in order to manage the testing programme: as the largest secondary school in the borough, this is no mean feat.
In other news, you will have heard that the exam results for GCSE, A Level and Btecs will once again be based onteacher assessed grades. We are now working on our assessment plan for Years 11, 12 and 13 to ensure that all students receive fair exam results. All schools and colleges are awaiting further guidance from the exam boards, therefore please bear with us - we will communicate the plan with you and students as soon as we can.
Finally, do see our recent Tweet and video link here about our CFGS Star Performer winners. Well done to all who took part!
Wishing you a safe and healthy week ahead,
Ms E. Holland
