Central Foundation Girls’ School recognised as one of the Best Performing Schools in the UK

On Thursday 6th June 2019, Central Foundation Girls’ School (CFGS) opened its doors to 80 schools and academies in the UK by hosting the Schools, Students and Teachers (SSAT) Awards Ceremony.

SSAT is an organisation that works with school leaders, teachers and students to drive school improvement and innovation. Every year they host a national awards ceremony to celebrate the educational outcomes of successful schools.

On the night CFGS received not one but three awards for being in the Top 20 % of schools for attainment, in the Top 10 % of schools for progress and for the exceptional work we do with our Pupil Premium students. Of the 80 schools that attended the event, CFGS was the only school honoured with receiving three awards.

During the day of the event CFGS celebrated this achievement with students and staff in recognition of the hard work that every member of the student and staff school community have made to these outstanding results.

As Esther Holland, Headteacher said:  Central Foundation has worked hard to be an excellent school and has been recognised for the third year running, to be amongst the top performing schools in the country.  These awards acknowledge that every student in our school is supported to be the best they can be, and that no student is left behind. Staff and students work tirelessly to achieve the highest standards and we are proud to have received recognition for our successes through these awards.
